flag germanThe German Empire

Imperial Germany did not join the rush for foreign colonies as did the other great (and not so great) Powers on earth, but the opportunities of another world cannot not be ignored if Germany is to remain a world power.

Hampered by the lack of examples of Invader technology and poor resources for producing Cavorite, Germany's industries have thrown themselves into developing more basic Steam Technology. The premier examples of such effort must surely be their various marks of panzerfahrzeug armored fighting vehicles and the brumbaer armored transports that accompany them. Also, despite the dangers of Hydrogen-based flight, Germany continues to build her fleet of lighter-than-air ships in preference to Cavoritic-engined aeroscaphs.

Forces of the German Empire

The core of German forces is the Prussian army and it is well trrained and well led.

Steam Technology

Lacking good examples of walking machines, Germany has sought another solution to the problem of projecting mobile firepower onto the modern battlefield: the landship. Embracing such foreign designers as Holt and Ford, the Kaiser has set his sights on having the mightiest land fleet.

This is a mark 2 Panzerfahrzeug, built on a modified Ford LAC chassis. The Mk.2 was the standard German armored vehicle during the Martian Punitive Expedition and remained an important vehicle for years. Its excellent field gun and mechanical reliability recommended it long after its armored protection had fallen below the norms of a principal battle landship.

A tip of the hat to Rob Beattie for awakening Station Management to the possibilities of converting certain Caterpillar tractor toys into Ford Patent Light Armored Conveyances.
