Panzer Fusileers

The German Empire relies on steam technology and at the forefront of its ground forces are the panzerfahrzeug and the the panzer fusileers that support them. We offer you soldiers of the famed Totenkopf panzer fusileers.

The new mechanized role of these troops is reflected in their mask-helemts, the helmet component of which is modeled on cavalry helmets rather than infantry ones. In another linkage to cavalry, they have embraced the imagery of the famous "death's head" hussars, and taken such imagery even further. The faceplates of their mask-helemts are modeled to resemble skulls and are sometimes painted to re-inforce that resemblance.

In keeping with their modern orientation, officers have given up on the swords still carried by their infantry counterparts and replaced the usual revolver with a modern Mauser automatic pistol. Sergeants carry a longer barreled version with an integral shoulder stock, a model that the Mauser firm has yet to see go into wider dservice. Nevertheless, the troopers still carry the ever reliable Mauser rifle, hence the fusileer (rifleman) part of their designation.
